I MADE IT IN NONSTOP HONOLULU MAGAZINE

For me “LIFE IS ALL ABOUT EXPERIENCES”, this is what Hawaiian Food Recipes represents for me, as well as Twitter.

Both, I am playing with, experimenting with, and both I am having a whole bunch of fun with.

So this is how I met Melissa Chang, from Nonstop Honolulu Online Magazine, formerly with the Star Advertiser, the local News Paper.

To Melissa; you have no idea how much of a panic you sent me into mentioning me in your Magazine Blog in conjunction with Foursquare.com

“Oh NO! This can’t be GOOD!”

I don’t know anything about Foursquare.com. All I meant to do was ask you a question about it!

“What can she possibly have to say that would involve me and Foursquare?! Is she crazy! Oh lord, stop her, and fast!”

She is making a huge blunder! Her good name is going to be soiled associating it with mine. And it scared me!

I am a Nobody! I am a lower than low, I am a peanut dropped and rolling on the ground which nobody wants! No 5 second rule applies to this peanut!

Yes, ok, I am having fun with twitter. And yes this is how I met Melissa. But… I didn’t expect this!!!!

I didn’t even do anything even remotely deserving of being mention in an Online Magazine!!

I had no idea what she was going to say! I had to stop her, for her sakes. This was freaking me out!

A last, I was too late!

My Hawaiian Recipe went viral.  Well, I mean viral in terms of my own little puny world.

With no help from me, it was fun to watch my recipe make its own way between the islands.  From my kitchen into another kitchen, and yet another, it was making its own way like a child into a young adult. It traveled.

In just a few days, it reached from the back-woods of Maui into the sophisticated offices of downtown Honolulu. Somewhere in this vast business district is where I finally lost tract of it. It just disappeared off my radar screen, on and on it went, on its merry way. One day we may meet again!

It was thrilling to watch my Hawaiian recipe go, travel far, know that I am satisfying the taste buds of people so far away from me, people in many different social circles, people who will never know me, except maybe,  that it is it my recipe, if I am lucky!

I can handle this kind of credit. I worked for it. I tweaked and tested this Hawaiian recipe. And I am so thrilled that so many other people are enjoying it, so thrilled that I did the “Snoopy Dance”,  twirling, fluttering feet, creating a little dust cloud. That is how thrilled I was.

Still, and after the dust cloud my panic created settled down, I have to thank you Melissa Chang. This was a funny and a fun experience!  It was a blast!

   And that’s life.
